Visiting?

All screenings and events are at the Chrysalids Theatre at 137 Ontario Street North, located in the Kitchener downtown core. The Theatre is located conveniently near the Via rail station, the Charles Street transit terminal (Greyhound, GO Transit and GRT, the local public transportation), and parking.

Travelling by Public Transit

The Theatre is an easy walk from the main bus terminal on Charles Street in downtown Kitchener. UW and WLU are less than 15 minutes away via iXpress.

Both Greyhound and GO Transit busses stop conveniently at the same bus terminal as the GRT. Direct bus service between Toronto and Kitchener is available for both Greyhound and GO Transit. The Toronto-Kitchener corridor is also served by Via Rail and Go Train service directly between Union Station and the downtown Kitchener train station.

Travelling by Car

The Theatre is located steps from Weber and Queen streets in downtown Kitchener. There is plenty of parking immediately near the theatre. Generally street parking is free; please see posted street signage for hours and other details.

We recommend the city lot at Centre Block, which covers nearly an entire city block formed by King, Duke, Young and Ontario streets. Parking is also available in the covered garage on Duke Street, but there is no free parking period. Both options are within a two-minute walk to the Theatre.

Overnight Stays

The official Festival hotel is the intimate and delightful Walper Hotel, conveniently located just steps away from the Theatre. Contact the hotel here, and be sure to ask for the special Waterloo Festival / Chrysalids Theatre rate.
